Note to readers: This Public Health Order was issued by Governor Newsom in the State of California on July 13th, 2020
Given the increase cases of COVID-19 transmission the Governor issued new directives limiting the operations of most ABC-licensed businesses throughout California.
Affected businesses should cease the specified operations until further notice or until the restrictions are lifted:
- All ABC-licensed businesses with on-premised consumptions of alcohol beverages must immediately discontinue all indoor operations. This directive goes to Type 02 (Wineries), Types 01 and 23 (Breweries), Types 04 and 74 (Distilleries), Types 40, 42, and 48 (Bars), Types 41 and 47 (Restaurants), Type 75 (Brewpub-Restaurants), and Types 50, 51, and 52 (Clubs).
- All breweries, distilleries, bars, and clubs must cease all outdoor operations, unless they operate a restaurant on premise. Restaurant operation must be in a bona fide eating place on the premise or though the use of a bona fide meal provider following prior Relief issued by ABC.
The exempt to the Governor’s order:
- ABC-licensed who will operate outdoors must have a permanent ABC license for the premise or have a COVID-19 Temporary Catering Authorizations. All alcoholic beverages must be served with a meal except for winery tasting rooms. Outdoor operations much comply with social distancing measures, face covering requirements, and other requirements in the relevant sector guidance for Dine-In Restaurants from the Public Health.
