California Liquor License Application Process
The State of California requires that you file a liquor license application with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (also known as ABC) when you decide to sell or serve alcoholic beverages. The application process requires that you provide them with detailed information about the operation of business and ownership.
You will be required to notify the surrounding community of your intent to purchase a liquor license. There are two forms of notifications required by ABC:
- For 30 days and in a visible location, you will be required to post notification to your vacant land, property or building.
- Mail an official ABC notification to residents who live within 500 feet of your business.
